Concept Design Notes:
Concept design is the early phase of design process in which the functions of the product or service are outlined. The concept design also includes selecting the suitable processes and technologies for the production. This means that the concept design involves process design as well. In the concept design, the required processes are identified and the technologies i.e. material, layout, strategies etc. are selected and established. Each considered technology is tested individually to check its suitability. The concept design provides a big picture and determines the requirements of the product or service. Concept design helps the designer to consider all the possibilities for the product including manufacturing process, material or any other technical aspects.
