Parameter Design Notes:

Parameter design means identifying the control variables and determining their levels specifically optimal level. Control variables are those variables that can be controlled or manipulated. These factors need to be identified and their levels must be determined in order to get a quality product or service. Control factors do not affect the production cost. Parameter design basically involves all these control parameters to ensure high level of performance. Optimal level of the control factors are also set using the parameter design. These optimal levels are called target. For example, when baking a cake without recipe, the optimal level or amount of ingredients, the optimal baking conditions i.e. baking temperature etc. are to be determined in order to bake a perfect cake. The ingredients and conditions are control factors upon which the taste of the cake (end result) is dependent.
