Design for Six Sigma Notes:

A new trend in manufacturing is to incorporate customers' needs and preferences in the process. This is usually done by considering the customers' demand at very early stage i.e. in the design process. When the new products or services are designed so that they can work with high performance and also fulfill the requirements of the customers regarding quality, it can be said that the products or services are designed to Six Sigma. Some methods are used in the concept of design to Six Sigma. These are DMADV (Design, measure, analyze, design, verify) and IDOV (Identify, design, optimize, verify). These methods are all customer-focused and consider the entire process from designing to marketing.
