Nominal Value Definition:

Nominal Value Notes:

For every product, a specific measurement is desired which must be fulfilled by the product. This desired measurement is called nominal value. The quality of the product is determined by comparing the actual measurement with the desired measurement i.e. nominal or target value. For example, if the radius of a metal rod is expected to be 5 cm, this value of 5cm refers to product?s target value. The nominal value is bound by a range of values to incorporate any common cause variations. The maximum value of measurement allowed for a product is called upper specification limit while the minimum allowed value is called lower specification limit.
