Skip Lot Sampling Plans Notes:

Acceptance sampling is a process by which the decision for the acceptance or rejection of a product lot is made on the basis of a products sample drawn from the lot. Acceptance sampling typically uses lot by lot sampling which requires drawing samples from all the product lots one by one and inspecting the products in the samples. The acceptance or rejection of each lot is based on its respective sample. A different method of lot by lot sampling can be used with the exception of inspecting all the lots by sampling. This is called skip-lot sampling. As the name indicates, skip-lot sampling plan inspects some fractions of all the submitted or produced lots. Skip-lot sampling is performed when the history of supplier in relation to supplying quality material is good.
