Quality planning is a strategic task that is performed to benefit a business or organization in longer run. It involves all the processes for identifying customer needs and developing stable and capable process to improve quality. Quality engineering is a set of processes involving all the aspects of an organization e.g. operations, management and engineering. Quality engineering tends to maintain a quality characteristic at a set target and reduce the variation in the process as well. The costs that are related to all these activities of quality planning and quality engineering are called quality planning and engineering costs.
