Queue Time Notes:
Sometimes, the work on items or products does not start right away. In this case, the products or material have to wait. The time an item waits for processing is called queue time. Queue time can be at the start of the process or between two workstations. When an equipment is being prepared, the item waits. When a part is finished and moves to the next station which is already occupied, the part waits. The products also wait even when they are completed, in the inventory, to be shipped to the customers. The time involved in all these situations is called queue time.
