Accuracy Notes:
DMAIC allows to measure the quality characteristic of the products in its second phase called measure. For this, a measurement system must be used. This measurement system should be capable enough to give accurate measurements. Accuracy is defined as the level to which the measured value is close to the correct or target value. It basically shows the closeness of a measured value to the target value. Based on the difference between the two values, percent error can be calculated which shows the error of measurement in percentage. For example, if the actual diameter of a rod is 5 cm and the diameter is measured to be 5 cm, the measurement is accurate. Any measured value other than 5 cm is not accurate.
