Incoming Inspection Definition:

Incoming Inspection Notes:

Acceptance sampling is a technique used for quality control. It involves drawing out a sample of products from the whole batch or lot, inspecting the sample for any quality defects and making a decision if the whole lot or batch should be accepted or rejected. Inspection in acceptance sampling can be performed at various locations in the process. A type of inspection that is performed at the start of the process is called incoming inspection. Incoming inspection is used to inspect the raw material, parts or subassemblies received from the supplier. Incoming inspection has two main advantages. The first one is that the defect in the raw material is detected earlier to prevent any non-conformities in the final products. The second one is that the standard and quality of the supplier can be checked through incoming inspection.
