When products are inspected at the end of the production process before sent to the customers, some of the non-conforming products are identified in that inspection. The failed products must be tested and their causes of failures should be identified. Usually some tools and techniques are used to analyze the failure causes. Moreover, failure analysis can also be performed before the actual production of the process using DMAIC process (the analyze phase). Whatever the situation is, these analysis incur costs to the organization. These costs are called failure analysis costs and comes under the internal failure costs category of quality costs.
