Managing Quality: Integrating the Supply Chain by S. Thomas Foster
Transcendent Notes:
While defining quality, David Garvin discovered that quality is defined in many different ways. One of the type of quality definitions are transcendent. This shows that quality is something which can be understood in mind but cannot be explained verbally. It is usually noted that when different people are asked what quality is, their understanding of quality is different. But in some cases, the people cannot explain or define the word quality. They cannot verbally communicate their feeling of the word quality. Just like love, jealousy or beauty cannot be explained, same is the case with transcendent quality definitions.
