Designed Experiment Definition:
A designed experiment is an approach to systematically varying the controllable input factors in the process and determining the effect these factors have on the output product parameters.

Designed Experiment Notes:
Processes must be monitored and controlled in order to reduce variation in them. This reduction in variation helps to make the processes stable and capable to produce products that meet the specifications. There are many techniques of process monitoring and control. One of them is called designed experiment. A designed experiment is used to identify key variables of the process and determine the influence of these variables on the results. Designed experiment is a systematic approach that changes the values of variables that can be controlled in the process. These changes can affect the outcomes of the process. Designed experiment is helpful in identifying the levels of input variables in order to improve the process performance.
