System Availability Definition:

System Availability Notes:

System availability is basically the probability/chances that a system will work properly during a specified time period. It is referred to as the uptime of a system. It is closely related to the mean time between failures, however, sometimes the mean time between failures appear to be unrealistic. This is due to the fact that mean time between failures is generally used as an average over several products/equipment rather than a single one. So, a better way to understand the time of the availability of a machine is to calculate system availability. It is calculated by dividing mean time between failures over the sum of mean time between failure and mean time to repair.
