Quality Function Deployment (QFD) Notes:
The data gathered regarding the customers' needs and preferences must be used in the design process. An approach to perform this translation of needs into product design is called quality function deployment. Designers tend to find a way to do so. One of them is house of quality. Listing the customer requirements, technical requirements, and their ratings etc. the figure of a house is made which is called house of quality. The steps involved in QFD using house of quality are developing a list of customer requirements, developing a list of technical requirements, establishing a relationship between these two requirements, determining the correlation between the technical aspects of the products, rating the customer requirements based on competitive assessment, prioritizing technical and customer requirements and final evaluation.
