When designing a product, there are some important considerations. One of them is to make sure that the designed product will be easy to maintain. Often a customer prefers replacing a product rather than fixing it because cost of maintaining or fixing the item is more than the actual cost of the product. So for a product, the ease of maintainability must be considered as early as in the design stage. The concept of design for maintainability involves making sure that the parts of the product can easily be replaced, the parts can easily be removed using standard procedure and tools, maintaining the product is safe, and disassembling the product would not be damaging.
