Design for Reliability Definition:

Design for Reliability Notes:

It is important for a product to be reliable in addition to conformance to specifications. Reliability is a dimension of product quality which should be taken into account. A product design that will produce a stable and capable product with less reliability is not a quality product. It means that reliability should be considered at the design phase. A product is like a system i.e. a combination of different components. When all the components work together properly, the product performs well. While considering reliability, both the component reliability and the system reliability (product) must be taken care of. Component reliability refers to the tendency of a product's part to fail with time. System reliability refers to the propensity of an overall product to fail over time.
