Engineering Process Control Definition:
Engineering process control is required when there are factors that affect the process that cannot be stabilized.

Engineering Process Control Notes:
The purpose of control charts is to identify variability in the process. Variations in the process can be of different types. Based on the type of variation, the process shows a distinct behavior. These behaviors can be stationary and non- stationary. Non stationary behavior occurs when the process is very unstable and there is no sense of fixed mean in the process. This behavior is usually shown by chemical and process industries. Non-stationary behavior can be stabilized by suing engineering process control. Engineering process control is used to adjust the process variable that is the reason of the variation in order to keep the output on the target value. Those variables are considered in engineering process control that cannot be completely stabilized e.g. environmental factors etc.
