Acceptance Control Chart Notes:

It is necessary to monitor and control the processes that produce products. The aim of process monitoring and controlling is to reduce variation in the process and continuously improve the process. This can be done using different types of control charts. The ultimate result that must be achieved after monitoring and controlling is to have a highly capable process. However, after achieving high capability, sometimes the strictness in monitoring is reduced. In those cases, a type of control chart called acceptance control chart is used. Acceptance control chart is used when fraction of non-conforming units or fraction of units that exceed specifications are to be monitored. Acceptance control charts can be developed using two methods. Acceptance control chart incorporates the situations when a satisfactory process can be rejected and when an unsatisfactory process can be accepted.
