Sequential Sampling Plan Notes:
The selection of appropriate sampling plan is a necessary aspect of acceptance sampling. As acceptance sampling deals with inspecting a sample of items from a whole lot and accepts or rejects the lot based on the quality of the sample, the samples must be drawn through a proper plan. There are different types of sampling plans that can be used in acceptance sampling. One of them is called sequential sampling plan. Sequential sampling plan involves drawing out a sample from the lot at one time and the decision for acceptance, rejection or drawing another sample is made after the inspection of the first sample. The sample size in sequential sampling plan is not fixed. Sequential plan can also be used to inspect a single unit at one time. Samples drawn through sequential sampling plans are usually small.
