Managing Quality: Integrating the Supply Chain by S. Thomas Foster
Social Environment Notes:
A corporation, planning to go global will face social issues as the social environment changes. The social environment includes cultural barriers, language barriers, customers' likes and dislikes and business customs etc. This is the most difficult environment to cope up with the changes in. A firm cannot hire female staff in the factory in a country where working women are looked down upon or the men of the house do not allow the women to work. A firm facing language barrier with labor in Pakistan because most of the labor belongs to rural areas and is not educated enough to talk in a foreign language is an example of changes in social environment.
