Randomization Definition:
Randomization means to sample in such a way that every piece of product has an equal chance of being selected for inspection.

Randomization Notes:
Randomization means being random. It basically considers the independence among the observations. Randomization is achieved when a sample of 10 pencils is to be picked and 100 pencils are produced in a day, then every pencil has a 1/100 chance of being picked up. When sampling, the first thing that comes into the mind is that the sample should be random. It means that random sampling is the most preferred form of sampling but it is very difficult to achieve. For example, when a single equipment is used to produce a product or a single operator is operating on the machine, selecting a random sample for this type of process is difficult as the equipment may go out of adjustment or the worker may feel fatigued with time which can result in human error.
