R Chart Notes:
R chart is a type of variable control chart which is used when the product characteristic is a variable i.e. height, weight, diameter etc. For R chart, samples are collected and arranged in subgroups. The range of each subgroup is calculated by taking the difference of the highest and the lowest value in the subgroup. The range values of each subgroup are then plotted. The control limits for the R chart are established using the already defined formula. The R charts help to determine the changes in the ranges of the subgroups over time. R charts identify how disperse the data within the subgroups is.
