Box Plot Notes:
One aspect of statistics is to represent data in an appropriate manner. There are different representation tools that can be used. One of them is box plot. Box plot is a graphical representation of the statistical data. Box plot is used to check how spread the data values are. A box plot gives important characteristics of the data including central tendency, variation, outliers etc. A box plot is also called box and whiskers plot. A box plot represents three quartiles and the minimum and maximum value in the form of a rectangle. The rectangle can be placed vertically or horizontally. The minimum and maximum values are usually represented on straight lines coming out of the box that are called whiskers. When representing data, box plots take on less space.
