Group Control Chart Definition:

Group Control Chart Notes:

A process which involves different sources of process data measurements in time is called multiple stream process. A control chart used to monitor and control a multiple stream process is called group control chart. A group control chart was first developed by Boyd in 1950. It is the basic tool used for monitoring multiple stream process. In order to develop group process chart, the data is collected from each stream. The sampling is performed as if a separate control chart is to be developed for each stream. Equal observations are collected from each stream to form a sample. The averages of the samples are averaged to get a grand average or mean. Same is the case with ranges. The largest and the smallest of averages are plotted in group control charts. Like averages, the highest value of range is plotted.
