Cycle time is a rate, calculated by dividing the processing time by the number of people or machines doing the work.

Cycle Time Notes:
Cycle time is the amount of time which shows how often a product is completed in a process. Cycle time is calculated when the work is started on the product order. This means that the difference between the time when work starts on the product and the time when the product is ready to be delivered is cycle time. Cycle time is usually calculated as a rate. The calculation can be made by dividing the processing time over the number of machines or workers involved in the process. For example, if 100 units are produced in 30 hours week shift, the cycle time of one unit will be 18 minutes.
