Defect Concentration Diagram Definition:

Defect Concentration Diagram Notes:

Statistical process control involves seven basic tools for quality control. One of them is called defect concentration diagram. A defect concentration diagram is a diagram, figure or a picture of an item in consideration showing its different views (top, bottom etc.). The views contain all the defects in the item. Using the defect concentration diagram, the location of various defects can be determined and potential causes of those defects are tried to be identified. Defect concentration diagrams can be used in DMAIC process (in the analyze phase). For example, the defect concentration diagram of a product shows surface finish defects around corners of the item. One of the potential causes of these defects can be poor material handling. If material handling could be improved, the defects can be minimized or even eliminated.
