Lundvall Juran Model Notes:

The understanding of quality costs aids in understanding the trade-off between these costs. A model was developed by Lundvall and Juran based on the law of diminishing marginal returns to show this trade-off. The model demonstrates that when the quality costs i.e. preventions costs and appraisal costs increase, the level of product quality conformance must increase. This means that more products conform to the specifications when activities regarding prevention of defects and inspection for quality issues increase (the cost related to the activities increase). Due to more conformance to specifications, the failures will also reduce, thus reducing the failure costs.
