Hoshin Kanri Process Notes:
To implement or deploy quality within an organization, many techniques are used. One of the Japanese methods of implementing quality is Hoshin Kanri process, also called Hoshin. Hoshin means plan or policy and Kanri means management control. Together, the word Hoshin Kanri means policy deployment. The Hoshin process involves the use of quality deployment function (QFD), Ishikawa basic tools of quality and new tools of quality. The Hoshin process involves development of 3 to 5 years of goals by the company, development of 1 year quality goals by management, development of 1 year goals by product management, action plans development by both upper and product management, review of these plans and implementation. Feedback is involved at all steps of the process.
