Conflict resolution is a function of management that is essential for a leader or manager to possess. When people work together, usually situations arise when the members of a team do not agree with each other. A leader must know how to peacefully resolve the conflict. A team consists of people belonging to different cultures, backgrounds, and expertise. It is a must situation that they disagree in one way or another. It is researched that a leader spends 30% of his/her time in conflict resolution which makes this function very important. Typically five strategies are used for conflict resolution, avoiding, defeating, compromising, accommodating and collaborating.
