Customer Coproduction Notes:

Customer coproduction is a behavioral aspect of a customer in service industry. Usually, when a service is provided, a customer waits for his/her turn to be served and gets the service by the provider. Sometimes, in certain types of services, customers help the service providers in providing the service. This is called customer coproduction. Customer coproduction refers to the willingness of a customer to participate when a service is being provided to him/her. For example, in a restaurant sometimes a note of self service is present. It means that the employees of the restaurant will make the order of the customer and the customer will self-serve himself/herself on the table by taking his/her order from the counter to the table.
