Just-in time is a manufacturing system where the main focus is on waste reduction. It is also called Toyota manufacturing system making Toyota the pioneer of this type of manufacturing. Just-in time refers to the concept that the products are produced only when they are needed. Using Just-in time (JIT), the efficiency and productivity can be improved. The flow of production also gets better when using just-in time. Just-in time system helps to reduce lead time of the products and prevents over production which ultimately reduces the chances of defective products and inventory costs. When suing just-in time manufacturing, the firm stays in touch with the customers to know their demand for product, in short increasing customer satisfaction.
