ISO/TS 16949 is an international standard that applies to the automotive industries only. It enables an organization to consider quality requirements in all the core operations of the industry including design, manufacturing, installation and servicing. The standard ISO/TS 16949 was developed by International Automotive Task Force that include some famous automobile industries e.g. Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors etc. The sections involved in the ISO/TS 16949 are introduction, scope, normative reference, terms and definitions, quality management system, management responsibility, resource management, product realization, measurement, analysis and improvement. The standard emphasizes on prevention of defects, waste reduction, and variation reduction in order to provide an opportunity of continuous improvement in the supply chain of automobile industries.
