Vertical Deployment Definition:

Vertical Deployment Notes:

The concept of total quality management refers to the fact that overall organization is involved in quality activities. Vertical deployment is a type of quality deployment in an organization which focuses on involving all the levels of the organization in quality related activities. An organization has different levels according to the organizational hierarchy/design i.e. top management, middle management (department heads or branch managers) and low level management (supervisors). Below the low level management, workers perform the day to day tasks. It is important to involve everyone in quality activities from top level to the workers. Workers must be given autonomy to inspect the quality at the workstations, the supervisors perform the overall quality control e.g. control charts. The middle managers set objectives of quality in their respective departments while the top management incorporates quality in strategic management.
