Activity network diagram is also known as PERT (program evaluation and review technique) diagram or critical path diagram. The diagram shows all the activities involved in the project. The activities are showed as nodes. Each activity is performed within a specific time period. Moreover, the activities are sequential and interlinked with each other. This link is shown by arrows between the nodes in the activity network diagram. This diagram shows the dependencies of the project elements. Activity network diagram is always drawn from left to right. The diagram can help to understand the longest path of activities with respect to time that must be completed in order to complete the project.
