Spider charts are graphs that display different performance metric in two dimensions. It is a quantitative method of analyzing performance. They are used when two items under the same performance metric are to be compared. The target of a number of factors is plotted on the graph. Then the actual performance based on each factor is measured and plotted on the same graph. A comparison can be made between the actual performance and the target while looking at the spider chart. The spider chart shows the performance targets which are exactly met, where the performance lacks and where the performance has exceeded the target.
