External Validation Notes:
In process improvement, assessment of the procedures etc. is important. This can be done by two ways, internal validation and external validation. External validation involves the methods of organization's assessment by external sources. The assessment can be performed to compare the performance of the organization in relation to an already specified criteria. One way of external validation is audits. An audit is the inspection of an organization by a team of experts. There are many types of audits that include operational audit, consultant audit, award audit, certification audit etc. External validation is also performed when an organization applies for a certification or a quality award with some serious claims regarding its outstanding quality system.
