Double Sampling Plan Notes:
100% inspection of all the produced products is sometimes no possible. In these cases, samples must be drawn from the lot or batch and the products within the sample are inspected in order to accept or reject the whole lot. For this reason, the most important thing to do is to select the appropriate sampling plan. Different sampling plans can be used in different situations. One of them is double sampling plan. As the name indicates, double sampling plan involves drawing out two samples of products from a batch or lot and the decision regarding acceptance or rejection is based on the number of non-conforming products in those two samples. Using double sampling plan, the total amount of required inspection can be reduced which in turn reduces inspection cost.
