Design for Disassembly Notes:
A product is basically a system that comprises of a number of parts or components. When the parts are assembled together, the whole product is formed. Sometimes, when a component of a product fails to perform its function, it must be taken out and repaired. Moreover, at the end of the useful life of a product, some of its parts may be re-used or recycled. This becomes easy when the product is easy to be taken apart. The concept which refers to the fact that a product can easily be disassembled without any damage and high cost is called design for disassembly. This concern of ease in disassembly should be taken into account at the design stage.
