Fraction Non Conforming Notes:

During a process, a large number of products are produced. Every product must be produced according to the defined specifications or specification limits. However, this is not possible as there is always some variation in the process that affects the products dimensions. The products that do not meet the specifications are called non-conforming products. When non-conforming products are expressed in the form of ratio, the value is called fraction non-conforming. Fraction non- conforming is calculated by dividing the number of non-conforming products in a population by the total number of products in a population. Fraction non-conforming is usually calculated to plot it on a type of attribute chart called p chart.
