The second phase of DMAIC process is measure. DMAIC is used to monitor and control processes that produce products in order to detect the quality issues. As measurements are to be made for a specific quality characteristic of the product, some measurement system must be used. Measurement systems include tolls, instruments or gauges for measuring the variables associated with the products. One of the factors that are related with the measurement system capability is repeatability. Repeatability refers to the ability of a measurement system to get same observation while measuring the same unit under same conditions. Repeatability is associated with the precision of a measurement system.
