After the product is designed, it enters into the manufacturing process. Just like the efforts of an organization to simplify the design process by reducing its time and cost, manufacturing process is also needed to be simplified. Manufacturing system design enables an organization to select the technical processes needed for the manufacturing of products that are of high quality but incur low costs. This selection is based on the customers' needs and preferences in addition to the financial state of the firm. Moreover, the selected process technologies must provide stable and capable processes. Manufacturing system design also helps an organization to become cost effective in terms of quality control and assurance.
