Probability Distribution Notes:

Statistics is used to analyze the collected data and make inferences about it. A major concept in inferential statistics is called probability distribution. A mathematical function that determines the likelihood of occurrence of a possible outcome in an experiment is called probability distribution. Probability of a variable can be calculated by dividing number of favorable outcomes over total number of outcomes. Probability distribution can take any specific shape or form depending upon the type of data. There are different types of probability distributions used in different situations. Some of them are normal distribution (bell shaped curve), binomial distribution (have successes and failures), Poisson distribution, Exponential distribution, beta distribution and many more.
