X Bar Chart Notes:

X bar chart is a type of variable control chart which is used when the product characteristic is variable i.e. height, weight, diameter etc. For X bar chart, samples are collected for a specific process characteristic. The samples are then arranged into rational subgroups. The average of each subgroup is calculated (i.e. the sum of all the observations in a sub group divided by the subgroup size). The values of these averages are plotted as an X bar chart. The control limits for the X bar chart are established using the already defined formula. The center line of the X bar chart is calculated as the sum of subgroup averages divided by the total number of subgroups.
