Processing Time Notes:

Data regarding a process can be collected using value stream mapping. One of the collected information is processing time. A production process can be divided into three sections; inputs, processing, and output. The time taken by a product to enter the process as input and leave the process as output is called processing time. In short, the time taken by a product to be processed is processing time. During processing time, actual work is being performed on the product to transform it form input to output. For example, a block of aluminum enters the process, pressing of the block is performed by a pressing machine and the finished aluminum pot leaves the system, the time taken in all this process is called processing time.
