Empowerment Notes:
Empowerment is a term used for making the workers responsible to make decisions related to their task. In traditional way of management, the tasks were assigned to the workers and whenever even a small issue occurred, the supervisor or manager was informed. In the new trend of empowerment, the employees are provided with autonomy. By providing empowerment, the employees are promised that their opinions are valued by the organization and they are the owners with respect to their own work i.e. they have the decision making authority while performing designated tasks to a certain extent. But before empowering the employees, it is necessary to clear the conditions regarding the extent of autonomy, the accountability of the wrong decisions and communication of the decision taken.
