Series Reliability Notes:
It is important to understand that a system should be reliable in order to perform its intended function well. A system is a combination of different components working together to make the whole system work. The function of the components depend on one another and the system depends upon the components. If a component fails, the overall system fails. Therefore, reliability of the components must be high in order to get a reliable system. Although, the components are not physically connected to each other in a series system, still their performance are linked to each other and the overall system in general.
