Signal transduction Notes:
Signal transduction is the process by which a chemical or physical signal is conveyed through a cell as a successions of molecular events which consequently results in a cellular response. Proteins that are responsible for detecting stimuli are called receptors. The changes caused by ligand binding in a receptor lead to s biochemical cascade, which is a chain of biochemical events as a signaling pathway.
