Spermatogenesis Notes:
Spermatogenesis is the route through which haploid spermatozoa develop from their ancestoral germ cells. This occurs in the seminiferous tubules of the testis. This process starts with the mitotic division of the stem cells that are situated close to the basement membrane of the tubules and are called spermatogonial stem cells. The mitotic division of these cells produces two types of cells. In mammals the process of spermatogenesis occurs in the seminiferous tubules of the male testes in a stepwise fashion.
