A hermaphrodite is an any living organism that has incomplete reproductive organs or may have reproductive organs of both males and females. Many taxonomic groups of mostly invertebrate animals do not have separate sexes and exist as hermaphrodites. In these groups of animals, a form of sexual reproduction occurs in which either partner can act as the female or male. A great range of slugs and earthworms etc all fall in this category
