Fate mapping is a technique that is used in the study of developmental biology. It is used to analyse the embryonic origin of various structures present in adult body. So basically the destination of the cell or group of cells is marked on the embryo elaborating on which cells will develop in to which structures. The classic fate mapping technique uses cells in different areas of an embryo which are then labeled with a dye. These cells are then tracked to see which organs or tissues they form
